This is an exciting time for Illinois children and families! Illinois was one of only 13 states to win the federal Race to the Top- Early Learning Challenge grant. Illinois will receive $34.8 million over the next 4 years. Part of this grant opportunity calls for Illinois to create a Quality Rating & Improvement System (QRIS) inclusive of all early learning and development programs. The purpose of this new report is to determine the state of child care costs in Illinois and to see if there have been any changes in the affordability of care. This report looks at licensed early care and education programs to determine trends in child care cost and availability.
